Langston Coleman Season 1966

1966 (Senior)

Started all 10 games for the Huskers at defensive end. Led ends with 53 tackles on the season. Coleman was a part of the Nebraska team that lost in the 1967 Sugar bowl against Bear Bryant’s Alabama, 7-34. Langston was a huge part in the Nebraska “Blackshirt” defense that only allowed 2280 yards and 84 points on the season.

1965 (Junior)

Langston started at end for the Huskers in 1965 for the Huskers, however his season was plagued with many injuries during this season. Langston had 26 tackles with 18 of them being unassisted. Coleman helped the Huskers to a 10-1 overall record, a Big Eight title and a trip to the 1966 Orange Bowl against Bear Bryant's Alabama squad. NU fell 39-28 to the Crimson Tide, but finished the season ranked No. 3 in the final national polls. 

1964 (Sophomore)

Coleman had a sensational sophomore season for the Huskers. During the season Coleman had 33 tackles with 13 of them being unassisted. Langston was part of the Nebraska defense that led the Big Eight in every single defensive category, in rushing yards allowed, passing yards allowed, total defense allowed. Coleman and the Huskers would win the Big Eight, but lose to Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl 7-10.

1963 (Freshman)

The first ever out of state walk on for the Cornhuskers. Played some games for the frosh team as a freshman.
