2025 (Sophomore)
Kyle Cunanan was Nebraska's starting place-kicker for all 13 games in 2025. He finished 16-of-19 on field goals and made all 45 extra points to lead NU with 93 points. Cunanan also had nine touchbacks on 18 kickoffs. 

Cunanan opened his Husker career by going 2-of-2 on field goals against Cincinnati, including a career-long 52-yarder. Cunanan also made both of his PATs against the Bearcats and had two touchbacks on three kickoffs. Cunanan set career highs with nine extra points and 12 points against Akron. He made a 35-yard field goal in his lone attempt against Akron, and Cunanan also kicked off eight times with four touchbacks. Cunanan connected on a 24-yard field goal against Houston Christian and made all eight of his extra points.
 
Cunanan made 2-of-3 field goals and all three extra points against No. 21 Michigan. He hit a 27-yard go-ahead fourth-quarter field goal against Michigan State, made all five extra points and recorded a touchback on both of his kickoffs. Cunanan connected on both field goals and all four extra points at Maryland. He made field goals of 30 and 33 yards at Minnesota. Cunanan missed his lone field goal attempt against Northwestern but was perfect on four PATs. He made a 39-yard field goal and both extra points against No. 23 USC. Cunanan made all four PATs at UCLA. Cunanan made a 31-yard field goal at Penn State in his only attempt of the game. He tied his career high with three made field goals against Iowa, connecting on attempts from 29, 31 and 35 yards. Cunanan made both of his extra points against Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Cunanan played two seasons at Charlotte (2023-24) and spent the 2025 spring season at Cal before transferring to Nebraska.

Cunanan played in 15 games in his two seasons at Charlotte, connecting on 14-of-20 field goals and all 21 of his extra-point tries. He redshirted in 2024, playing in three games and going 5-of-5 on field goals and 5-of-5 on extra points with one touchback on six kickoffs. In 2023, Cunanan played in 12 games and made 9-of-15 field goals with a long of 49 yards. He also was 16-of-16 on PATs and had 21 touchbacks on 45 kickoffs. Cunanan tied the school record with three field goals made in consecutive games against Florida Atlantic and Tulsa.

Prior to Charlotte, Cunanan scored 197 points at Sunnyslope High School in Arizona. He had a long field goal of 51 yards in his prep career, and Cunanan was also the starting punter in his final two seasons.
