• 1980 Nebraska Defensive Player-of-the-Week (Week 8 vs. Missouri)

1980 (Senior)
Baker lettered for two years and was a part time starter in both 1979 and 1980. As a senior he had 59 tackles, including 31 unassisted, one sack for eight yards lost, one fumble recovery, two passes intercepted and one other broken up. Against Missouri, Kim intercepted a pass and returned it 77 yards for a touchdown, helping the Huskers to a 38-16 win over the No. 15 Tigers. 

Kim also saw action in the Sun Bowl against Mississippi State where he had four tackles, three of which were unassisted, helping the Huskers to a 31-17 win and a 10-2 record overall.

1979 (Junior)
Kim shared the weakside linebacker spot with Tom Vering and led the team in tackles with 90, he had 60 unassisted, three stops behind the line for nine yards in losses and two passes broken up. Kim was the Nebraska Defensive Player-of-the-Week against New Mexico State where he had 11 tackles, including eight unassisted and one pass broken up. 

Baker had a standout game in the Cotton Bowl against Houston, where he had twelve total tackles, nine of which were unassisted along with an interception and a tackle behind the line. Kim helped Nebraska to a 10-2 finish in 1979.

1978 (Sophomore)
As a sophomore. Baker played the strongside position, until an injury to his left knee required surgery, against Hawaii forced him to miss the rest of the season. 

1977 (Redshirt)
Kim redshirted his second season as a Husker. 

1976 (Freshman)
Baker starred with the 1976 freshman as a defensive end. 

York High School
At York High School as a senior, under Coach Tom McClelland, he earned All-State honors as a defeinsive end. Kim also lettered as a prepster in basketball and track. Kim was majoring in criminal justice and is the son of LeRoy and Joyce Baker. Kim signed as a free agent with Seattle in the NFL.
