Ken Shead Season 1985

1985 (Senior)
Shead appeared in all eleven games as a senior, finished the season with six tackles, one pass break up and one interception against Oregon which helped the Huskers to a 63-0 win. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the 1986 Fiesta Bowl against Michigan.

1984 (Junior)
Ken earned playing time behind Ken Graeber, finishing with 36 tackles, of those 36 tackles, 26 were unassisted, two were quarterback sacks totaling 15 yards in losses, four others were for losses totalling six yards. He also recovered on a fumble, setting up a Nebraska field goal in a 33-23 win over Missouri. He had season high and career high of five tackles three times, Wyoming, UCLA and Oklahoma State. He had a solid Sugar Bowl when he finished with two tackles in a 28-10 win over LSU. 

1983 (Sophomore)
As a reserve in 1983, Ken recorded 13 tackles, nine of them unassisted, including a quarterback sack for a loss of six yards. Nebraska finished the season with a 12-1 record and an appearance in the 1984 National Championship game against Miami. 

1982 (Redshirt)
Ken redshirted his second season at Nebraska. 

1981 (Freshman)
Shead played middle guard for the 5-0 Husker freshman team that only allowed 15 points all season. 

Plano High School (Plano, Texas)
Shead was an all-state, all-district and all-metro Dallas for Coach Tom Kimbrough where he lettered four years as a defensive tackle and tight end. He was named defensive player-of-the-year by the Dallas Morning News. He also lettered twice each in basketball and track.

Ken was majoring in business administration and is the son of Kenneth W. Shead Sr.
