Long snapper Josh Faulkenberry stepped into a starting role in 2014 and performed his duty well. Faulkenberry was slated to provide depth behind sophomore Gabe Miller, however Miller suffered a career-ending back injury pushing Faulkenberry into action. He will be a candidate for the snapping chores again in 2015, as NU also returns kickers Drew Brown and Mauro Bondi and punter Sam Foltz.

Faulkenberry handled the snapping duties on punts for the entire season, and handled snapping on PATs and field goals for the first half of the season.

2014 (Redshirt Freshman)
Faulkenberry joined the program in January and played in all 13 games. NU ranked fourth in the Big Ten in net punting, while connecting on 14-of-21 field goals and all 61 PAT attempts. He had a tackle on punt coverage at Iowa and recovered a fumble at Michigan State.

Before Nebraska (Arvada West HS)
Faulkenberry was a member of the football team at Arvada West High School in Colorado. Faulkenberry was on the varsity roster all four years as a long snapper and also saw action at tight end. In addition to his snapping duties, he had 272 career receiving yards, and punted as a junior. Faulkenberry was also a member of Arvada West’s baseball team and played power forward in basketball.

Personal
Faulkenberry was born on June 9, 1994, and is the son of Brandon and Tracy Engelsman. Faulkenberry is majoring in management. He has volunteered his time with the Husker Hotline.
