2006 Outlook
Place-kicker Jordan Alegria enters fall camp with hopes of contributing to Nebraska’s special teams. The North Platte, Neb., native is among the players vying to back up sophomore Jordan Congdon at place-kicker. Alegria could also be a contender to handle kickoff duties for the Huskers.

Before Nebraska (North Platte HS)
Alegria rounded out his high school career with a stellar performance in the 2005 Shrine Bowl. The North Platte native kicked a Shrine Bowl-record four field goals, including a 52-yarder, to earn offensive player-of-the-game honors. Alegria was 14-of-21 on field goals in his senior season and was 65-of-68 on PATs to earn all-state honorable-mention honors from the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World-Herald. He made 112 unassisted tackles and recovered nine fumbles on the defensive side of the ball from his linebacker position, and had a 36-yard punting average. Alegria was also named a KNOP-TV Friday Night Sports Hero.

Jordan was born on Nov. 26, 1986, and is the son of Connie Alegria. He has not declared a major.
