Jeff Bloom Season 1979

1979 (Senior)
Bloom started during his senior year when Kelly Saalfeld was injured. He served as the Huskers special teams center, Jeff snaps on punts and extra points. Jeff was an important factor to the Huskers rushing attack, helping them to 327.3 yards per game. He helped Nebraska to a 10-2 finish and a Cotton Bowl appearance against Houston in 1979.

1978 (Junior)
Jeff earned another varsity letter as a reserve center and a special teams player.  Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma.

1977 (Sophomore)
Bloom saw limited action in ‘77 but still earned his first varsity letter. Jeff helped the Huskers finish with a 9-3 record and a Liberty Bowl win against North Carolina, 21-17.

1976 (Redshirt)
Bloom redshirted his second season as a Husker.

1975 (Freshman)
Bloom played center on the undefeated Husker freshman team after walking on. 

Stevens High School (Rapid City, S.D.)
Jeff was a two year letterman at Stevens High School in Rapids City. He was majoring in pre-dentistry and is the son of Jim and Maggie Bloom.
