2018 (Redshirt Freshman)
Guy Thomas appeared in four games as a redshirt freshman for Nebraska in 2018, totaling four tackles. He posted his first career tackle on special teams at No. 19 Michigan. Thomas had a career-high three tackles in the Huskers' win over Bethune-Cookman, with each stop coming from his linebacking spot. He also added the first pass breakup of his career vs. BCU.
2017 (Redshirt)
Thomas was a potential candidate to play as a true freshman, but he ultimately redshirted in his first season at Nebraska.
Before Nebraska (Booker T. Washington HS)
Thomas joined the Nebraska program from prep powerhouse Booker T. Washington High School in Miami. Thomas was part of an impressive group of defensive linemen in the Huskers’ 2017 recruiting class.
Thomas was a standout defender for Coach Tim Harris during the 2016 season at Booker T. Washington. His play helped the team to a 9-4 record and a trip to the semifinals of the Class 4A state playoffs. For his efforts, Thomas was a second-team Florida 4A all-state pick.
Thomas helped Booker T. Washington to a Class 4A state championship in the 2015 campaign. Thomas racked up 54 tackles, including 14 sacks and forced three fumbles.
Thomas is ranked among the top 25 weakside defensive ends in the country by Rivals.com, ESPN and the 247 Sports composite rankings. He was also listed among the top 55 prospects in Florida by both ESPN and Rivals.com.
Personal
Guy was born on Aug. 5, 1999, and his guardian is Lakay Butts. Thomas is majoring in criminology and criminal justice. He volunteered with the Nebraska Football Road Race and local hospital visits.
