1977 (Senior)
Greg was a three-year starter for Nebrska from 1975 to 1977. Jorgensen was drafted by the New York Giants, but decided to pass up pro ball to become a graduate assistant with the University of Nebraska. Greg's play earned him Second Team All-American by Football News. Greg helped the Huskers average 302.5 rushing yards per game and 415.4 total yards per game, which ranked second and first in the Big Eight, respectively. He helped the Huskers finish with a 9-3 record and a Liberty Bowl win against North Carolina, 21-17.
1976 (Junior)
Greg teamed with right guard Steve Lindquist to give the Huskers a swift and talented pair. Greg earned numerous honors including Honorable Mention All-American and All-Big Eight. Jorgensen helped the Huskers lead the Big Eight in passing offense, averaging 188.0 passing yards per game, while helping Nebraska quarterback Vince Ferragamo to lead the conference with 2,086 yards of total offense. Greg helped Nebraska finish the season with a 9-3-1 record and an Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl win over Texas Tech, 27-24.
1975 (Sophomore)
Greg started for the Huskers his sophomore year, earning his first letter. Nebraska averaged 243.6 rushing yards per game. As a sophomore, Greg helped the Huskers finish the season with a 10-2 record and a Fiesta Bowl appearance against Arizona State.
1974 (Redshirt)
Jorgensen redshirted his second season as a Husker.
1973 (Freshman)
Greg was a standout offensive lineman for the 1973 freshman team.
Minden High School (Minden, Nebraska)
Greg earned nine letters during his high school career. He was named All-State and All-Conference football honors under Coach James Nolan. Greg is an agricultural major and is the son of Perry and Dolores Jorgensen.
