Gary Higgs

1976 (Senior)
Gary lettered three times, backing up Dodie Donnell and Tony Davis. In 1976, he carried 27 times for 99 yards, and caught two passes for 13 yards. Gary helped Nebraska finish the season with a 9-3-1 record and an Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl win over Texas Tech, 27-24.

1975 (Junior)
Higgs was a reserve behind Tony Davis and Dodie Donnell. He carried 21 times for 97 yards and a touchdown. The Huskers finished the season with a 10-2 record and a Fiesta Bowl appearance against Arizona State.

1974 (Sophomore)
Gary was a first time letterman who carried the ball 37 times for 171 yards and a touchdown. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and a Sugar Bowl win against Florida (13-10).

1973 (Redshirt)
Gary redshirted his second season as a Husker. 

1972 (Freshman)
Higgs was the starting full back for the Husker freshman team. He finished the season with 24 rushing attempts for 101 yards and two touchdowns while helping the Huskers to a 4-1 record. Gary also caught four passes, second best on the team, for 102 yards. Higgs returned on kickoff for 27 yards. 

Scott High School (Toledo, Ohio)
Higgs was a standout football performer at Scott High School under Coach Richard Johnson. He earned nine letters in Football (3), Basketball (3), and Track (3).
