1990 (Junior)
White did not record any stats or receive a letter during the 1990 season. He helped the Huskers earn a trip to the 1991 Florida Citrus Bowl.
1989 (Sophomore)
White entered the season as Nebraska's third-string strong safety behind Reggie Cooper and fellow sophomore Curtis Cotton. He appeared in seven games, recording four tackles, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup while earning his first varsity letter. White also contributed to a Nebraska team that finished 10–2 and advanced to the Fiesta Bowl against Florida State.
1988 (Redshirt)
Freeman redshirted his second season at Nebraska.
1987 (Freshman)
White was a walkon but started at strong safety for Coach Shane Thorell’s freshman team. He finished the year with 14 tackles, 10 unassisted. He also led the team in punt return yards with 144 on eight attempts, including a 38- yard touchdown vs Bethany junior varsity and a 47-yard non-scoring return against the St. Thomas junior varsity team.
Tilton Academy, New Hampshire
White played linebacker and I-Back for Coach Ken Hollingsworth, and helped lead his team to the Lakes Region title. He accumulated four letters each in football and baseball.
Personal
Freeman was a general studies major. The son of Freeman Jr. and Lorene White. His father was an All-American split end for Coach Bob Devaney at Nebraska in 1965 and went on to play four years in the NFL with the New York Giants before closing out his career with Ottawa of the Canadian Football League in 1970. He was born in Kearney, Nebraska.
