Member of Nebraska’s 1994 National Championship Team
1994 (Sophomore)
A reserve outside linebacker, Ed Morrow played two games (UCLA, Pacific) in his third season with the Huskers in 1994. He helped Nebraska to an unbeaten, national championship season that culminated with a 24-17 victory over Miami in the 1995 Federal Express Orange Bowl. Morrow made his first appearance of the season in NU’s win over UCLA, before notching a pair of assisted tackles in a victory over Pacific.
1993 (Redshirt Freshman)
Morrow played in three regular-season games (North Texas, Colorado State, Iowa State) as a reserve outside linebacker for the Big Eight champion Huskers in 1993. He helped the Big Red to an unbeaten regular season and a trip to the 1994 Federal Express Orange Bowl national championship game against Heisman Trophy winner Charlie Ward and Florida State. The Huskers fell to the Seminoles 18-16, with a last-second field goal attempt missing short and wide left. Morrow recorded three tackles on the season. He produced both of his solo tackles, including an explosive 17-yard sack, in a win over Colorado State.
1992 (Freshman)
A scholarship athlete, Morrow redshirted in his first season at Nebraska in 1992.
McCluer High School
A native of Ferguson, Mo., Morrow was a Parade All-American linebacker at St. Louis McCluer High School for Coach Mike Mueller. Morrow hauled in six interceptions and recorded 155 tackles (115 solos) as a junior in 1990, before adding four more interceptions and 140 stops (90 solos) as a senior in 1991. His production as a senior came despite missing two games after undergoing a midseason arthroscopic knee surgery. In one playoff game, Morrow intercepted three passes, blocked a punt, recovered a fumble and had 14 tackles. A two-time, big-school all-state performer in football, he was also a standout center for McCluer’s No. 1 basketball team. He was also a member of the academic honor roll as a senior in 1991-92. He chose Nebraska over Arkansas, Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma, USC and Tennessee.
