Before Nebraska (McClymonds HS/Northern Arizona/Idaho/San Diego State)
Dwayne McDougle III spent time at San Diego State (2025), Idaho (2023-24) and Northern Arizona (2022) before transferring to Nebraska. McDougle played in 40 games with 21 starts in his four seasons before becoming a Husker, during which time he recorded 143 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss, six interceptions, 12 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
In 2025 at San Diego State, McDougle started all 13 games and recorded 55 tackles with 1.0 TFL, four interceptions and three pass breakups. He ranked 23rd nationally in interceptions and was a key part of an Aztec defense that ranked sixth nationally in pass defense, seventh in scoring defense and 12th in total defense.
McDougle played in 26 games with nine starts in two seasons at Idaho. He totaled 87 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions and nine pass breakups. McDougle made 58 tackles as a sophomore in 2024 with 1.5 tackles for loss and six pass breakups. As a redshirt freshman in 2023, McDougle totaled 29 tackles with 1.0 TFL, two interceptions and three pass breakups.
McDougle played in one game at Northern Arizona in 2022 while redshirting. He appeared against Montana State and had one tackle.
Prior to college, McDougle was a two-way player for McClymonds High School in California. In his final game, McDougle caught two touchdown passes, had one interception and one sack as McClymonds won the CIF Division 3-A state championship.
