Dalton, Doug action 3000x1200

1987 (Senior)
Dalton played in four games his senior year, contributing to one of the nation’s top offenses. He carried the ball four times for 41 yards, earning himself his second varsity letter. Dalton helped the Huskers offense rank third nationally in scoring (38.5 ppg) and second in total offense (489.0 ypg). The Huskers finished the season with a 10-2 record and an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl. 

1986 (Junior)
Dalton played in nine regular season games in his junior year. Carrying the ball 9 times for 53 yards, earning his first varsity letter. Dalton helped the Huskers to an appearance in the 1987 USF&G Sugar Bowl, where they defeated LSU 30-15. Nebraska finished second nationally in rushing offense (305.5 ypg) and third in scoring (37.8 ppg).  

1983 (Freshman, Waldorf)
Before joining the Huskers, Dalton played at Waldorf Junior College (Iowa) where he was coached by Dave Bolstorff. During his one season at Waldorf he competed against Nebraska's freshman team where he had four carries for four yards. 

Cortland Lakeview High School
Dalton played fullback for coach Bill Bohren at Cortland Lakeview High School in Ohio. Doug is the son of Leo and Carolyn Dalton. Doug was born in Fairmont, West Virginia.
