Don Bourn Season 1984

1984 (Senior) 

Two-time letterman and solid back up his senior year. The 6-3, 215 pound tight end didn’t see much action as he was labeled the third-string. The walk-on didn’t record a reception in his senior year.

1983 (Junior)

Lettered reserve and back-up tight end. Don would be the third-string tight end behind Brian Heimer and Todd Frain.

1982 (Sophomore)

Don would be a non-lettered reserve for the season. 

1981 (Redshirt)

Don Bourn would redshirt in his second season with the Huskers in 1981.

1980 (Freshman)

Don walked on for the Huskers’ freshman team that would later go 5-0 on the season. Don would be the back-up tight end for Monte Engebritson. Don would catch one pass for seven yards against the University of Nebraska-Omaha. 

Personal 

Son of Donley and Donna Bourn, Don Bourn was born on June 7, 1962, in Manhattan, Kan. Bourn was a four-year letterman as a tight end, safety and linebacker for coach Dan Hoesly at Ponca Public High School. He also earned four letters in basketball, three in track, named all-conference in football and basketball. Bourn enrolled at Nebraska as a business administration major. Bourn is now the CEO of Bourn Companies based in Tucson, Ariz.
