Singleton, whose full name is Darrell Singleton Jr., is the son of Darrell Singleton and Ursula Tyree. DJ is a child, youth and family studies major.
DJ's older brother, DeShon, was a Husker defensive back from 2022 to 2025 who played in 42 games with 30 starts and totaled 163 tackles.
