1979 (Senior)
Sukup was the Huskers top kicker and finished the season as the 25th leading scorer in the country. Last season, he kicked 40 of 44 extra points and 12 of 17 field goals, for a total of 76 points. Sukup won the Iowa (24-21) and Missouri (23-20) games  for Nebraska. He was named first team All-Big Eight honors and Academic All-Big Eight hours. He helped Nebraska to a 10-2 finish and a Cotton Bowl appearance against Houston in 1979.

1978 (Junior)
As a junior, Dean backed up Big Eight star Billy Todd. He kicked six extra points and made every one. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma.

1977 (Sophomore)
Dean backed up Billy Todd and finished the season with two extra points made. Dean helped the Huskers finish with a 9-3 record and a Liberty Bowl win against North Carolina, 21-17. 

1976 (Redshirt)
Sukup redshirted his second season as a Husker. 

1975 (Freshman)
Dean was a star on the 1975 freshman team as he kicked two 52 yard field goals that season. 

Cozad High School
Dean was an outstanding football player and golfer. He was majoring in Pre-Med and is the son of Mr. Fred Sukup.
