1980 (Senior)
David was a three-year letterman for the Huskers at defensive tackle, Clark had an outstanding senior season. He finished with 40 tackles, including 24 unassisted, nine stops behind the line for a loss of 68 yards and two fumble recoveries. For these efforts, he earned Honorable mention All-American and first team All-Big Eight. 

David had a solid outing in the Sun Bowl against Mississippi State where he had four tackles, two unassisted, including one tackle for a loss of one yard. Clark helped the Huskers to a 31-17 win and a 10-2 record overall.

1979 (Junior)
David played behind Rod Horn during his junior and sophomore season. He finished his junior season with 17 tackles, 12 unassisted along with five tackles for a loss of 27 yards. David had a solid game in the Cotton Bowl against Houston, where he finished with three tackles, including one tackle for loss. David helped Nebraska to a 10-2 finish in 1979.

1978 (Sophomore)
Clark finished his sophomore season with 22 tackles, 16 unassisted, two fumble recoveries and two tackles for a loss of 15 yards – despite playing behind Rod Horn. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma.

1977 (Transfer from UTEP)
At El Paso in 1976, he was a freshman playing tackle with the varsity. 

Odessa High School
David was a star tackle at Odessa High School. He is the younger brother of Kelvin who was an All-American offensive tackle for the Huskers. David was an elementary education major and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.K. Clark.
