Dave Stromath Season 1981

1981 (Senior)
Dave was a former walk on who worked his way into an active role for the Huskers. He was Nebraska's third defensive tackle until a chronic shoulder ailment limited his playing tim in 1981. Dave finished his senior season with 13 tackles, 6 unassisted, one tackle for a loss of five yards and one pass break up. The Huskers finished the season with a 9-3 record and earned a berth in the national championship Orange Bowl against Miami.

1980 (Junior)
Stromath saw playing time as a reserve and earned his first varsity letter. Dave had the best game of his career as a junior when he had five tackles including four unassisted in the 1981 Sun Bowl, where he helped the Huskers to a 31-17 win over Mississippi State. He finished the season with eight tackles including one tackle for a loss of seven yards. Nebraska finished the season with a 10-2 record. 

1979 (Sophomore)
Dave was a reserve right tackle for the Huskers. Nebraska finished the season with a 10-2 record and an appearance in the Cotton Bowl against Houston.

1978 (Redshirt)
Stromath redshirted his second season as a Husker. 

1977 (Freshman)
Dave was a walkon and played with the 1977 Nebraska freshman team. 

Millard High School
Dave was an offensive and defensive tackle and a defensive end and tight end under Coach Don Bailey, Stromath earned All-Conference honors. He also lettered in basketball. Dave was a civil engineering major and is the son of Roma Fackler.
