1980 (Senior)
A senior letterman who backed up Jimmy Williams at the left defensive end spot in 1980. Daryl recovered two fumbles and had three stops behind the line for a loss of 16 yards. Holmes finished his career as a Huskers with 11 tackles, seven unassisted and five tackles for a loss of 30 yards and two fumble recoveries. Daryl also saw action in the Sun Bowl against Mississippi State, helping the Huskers to a 31-17 win and a 10-2 record overall.
1979 (Junior)
Holmes was a reserve junior with the varsity in 1979. He finished the season with one unassisted tackle. Holmes helped Nebraska to a Cotton Bowl appearance against Houston and a 10-2 record.
1978 (Sophomore)
Daryl saw varsity action as sophomore, finishing the season with four tackles, three unassisted and two tackles for a loss of 17 yards. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma.
1977 (Redshirt)
Daryl redshirted his second season as a Husker.
1976 (Freshman)
Daryl was a walk on and played with the Nebraska freshman team.
Mendel Catholic High School (Chicago, IL)
Holmes was an All American football player. He majored in business and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Moses D. Holmes, Sr.
