Danny Odem III was one of the nation’s top cornerbacks for The First Academy in Orlando, where he became the first five-star prospect in program history. Odem was recognized as a high school All-American with his invitation to play in the Navy All-American Bowl.
Odem was an all-district selection as a senior, and he had three interceptions in a game against the defending Florida 7A state champion. As a junior, Odem totaled 45 tackles with two interceptions and three pass breakups, according to MaxPreps. Odem played his first two seasons for Farrell High School in his home state of Pennsylvania. He totaled 80 tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss, five interceptions and eight passes defended in his first three high school seasons.
Offensively, Odem also had 68 receptions for 776 yards and eight touchdowns in his first three high school seasons, including 613 yards in his sophomore season at Farrell. He was also a third-team all-state selection in basketball as a sophomore after averaging 17.5 points per game.
Odem is regarded as a five-star prospect by 247Sports. He is ranked as the No. 31 player in the country by 247Sports, which lists Odem as the nation’s No. 2 cornerback. Rivals and ESPN also rank Odem as one of the top 250 players in his class.
