1984 (Senior)

Most-valuable-player in the 1985 Sugar Bowl, Sundberg hit 10 of 15 passes for 143 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Huskers to their 28-10 victory over Louisiana State on New Year's night. He threw three touchdowns tying the Husker bowl game record set by Bob Churchich in 1966. Started the first five regular-season games of 1984, would then lose his job to junior Travis Turner for the final six. Would later win the starting job back after throwing for 171 yards in relief of Turner in the regular-season wrapup against Oklahoma. Craig would also lead the Big Eight in passing efficiency with (138.5) rating. 

1983 (Junior)

Sundberg would only appear in two games against Minnesota and Syracuse only completing nine of his 12 pass attempts for 159 yards. Craig would also throw one touchdown each in both games. Sundberg would rush 18 times for 86 yards and four touchdowns.

1982 (Sophomore)

Sundberg would see very limited time as a sophomore, only throwing two passes and completing one of those. Craig would also have seven rushes for 32 yards.

1980 (Freshman)

A 1980 recruit, he was the alternate quarterback behind Turner Gill on that outstanding 5-0 freshman team. Craig would complete 20 of his 32 passes for 347 yards, with one interception and two touchdowns. 

Personal

Son of David and Linda Sundberg, Craig Sundberg was born on Aug. 4, 1962, in Lincoln, Neb. Craig was a two-time all-state quarterback at Lincoln Southeast for Coaches Franck Solich in 1978 and Chuck Mizerski in 1979, Three-year letterman in basketball, his teams were in the state tournament in both sports all three years. Craig was also lettered in golf and captained the 1979 LSE football team. Sundberg was an business administatrion major.
