1975 (Senior)

Jones started at right cornerback for Nebraska during his senior season. Chuck would play a major part in the Blackshirt’s defense. Chuck would have his best game against Colorado, where he would intercept the Colorado quarterback and return the ball 19 yards. The week prior Jones would be named NU Defensive Player of the Week during the 28-20 win against Oklahoma State. Jones would have an interception against Oklahoma State. Chuck would also appear in the Fiesta Bowl loss against Arizona State 17-14. Jones finished the season with 33 tackles with 13 of them being unassisted, two interceptions and three pass breakups.

1974 (Junior)

Jones would play alternate defensive back, even receiving a letter during this season. Jones recorded six tackles with two of them being unassisted. Jones would even record a blocked kick during his junior year campaign. 

1973 (Sophomore)

Chuck was an unlettered squadman during his sophomore season for NU. Jones wouldn’t record any stats during this season. 

1972 (Redshirt)

Chuck Jones would redshirt for the 1972 season. 

1971 (Freshman)

Jones would play for the NU freshman team during the 1971 season. Starting at right cornerback for the team. 

Personal

Son of Willis Jones, Chuck Jones was born March 23, 1952, in Beatrice, Neb. Chuck’s dad was a lettered NU player during the 1947-49 seasons. Jones enrolled at NU as a business major.
