1973 (Junior)
Leonardi was a back-up to Tom Alward at left guard. Chad guided the Huskers to the fourth best rushing attack (225.4 ypg) and the second best passing offense (170.6 ypg) in the Big Eight during the ‘73 season. Leonardi helped the Huskers to a 9-2-1 record and a 19-3 Cotton Bowl win over Texas.
1972 (Sophomore)
Chad was a squadman for the Huskers but did not play. The Huskers finished with a 9-2-1 record and a dominating 40-6 win over Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl.
1971 (Redshirt)
Chad redshirted his second season at Nebraska.
1970 (Freshman)
Chad was a star guard for the undefeated Husker freshman team.
Personal
Leonardi played High School football under Coach Ray Campenilli in Canonsberg, Pennsylvania. Chad was majoring in marketing and is the son of Harry and Dorothy Leonardi.
