1966 (Senior)

Carel earned All Big Honors during his senior season after a stellar performance at the defensive tackle position. In this season Stith led the team in unassisted tackles with 42 and total tackles with 82, He also recovered two fumbles. Stith played a major part in Nebraska leading the Big Eight in defensive yards allowed with 2280, and only allowing 84 points all season. Started in the 1966 Orange Bowl against Bear Bryant's Alabama squad. NU fell 39-28 to the Crimson Tide, but finished the season ranked No. 3 in the final national polls. 

1965 (Junior)

Stith earned the No.1 tackle position before Walt Barnes made the switch to middle guard. During this year Stith would only record eight tackles on the season with three of those being unassisted. Carel helped the team only allow 90 points all season.

1964 (Sophomore)

Stith was a reserve squad player for the Huskers during his sophomore year. 

1963 (Freshman)

Stith would play for the frosh team for football and wrestling. Earning a letter for the frosh team on wrestling. 

Personal

Son of Carel Stith , Carel Stith was born in May. 24, 1945, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Stith enrolled at NU as a business administration major. After Stith senior year he was drafted by the Houston Oilers in the fourth round and played two seasons for the team.
