1987 (Senior)
Washington was a 4 year letter-winner and a three year starter. Finished his final season with 33 tackles, he had 5 pass break ups and two interceptions. On September 28th 1987, Washington sealed the game for the Huskers against Arizona State (35-28) when he intercepted quarterback, Danny Ford, in the last seconds of the game. The following week Washington intercepted Todd Ellis of South Carolina, leading to a Husker Field Goal. He also had career tackling games as a senior, with eight tackles vs. Oklahoma and seven tackles vs. Arizona State. His contributions helped the Cornhuskers finish the regular season with a 10-2 record and earn a berth in the Fiesta Bowl against Florida State.
1986(Junior)
Washington finished the season with 18 tackles and one tackles for loss with ten games played. Finishing his junior year on a high note against LSU in a Sugar Bowl win (30-15) where he had five total tackles and an interception in the first half that led to a Husker go-ahead touchdown. Washington's contributions helped the Huskers to a 10-2 record.
1985 (Sophomore)
Washington finished his sophomore season with Second Team All-Big Eight honors. Brian had 37 tackles with 27 unassisted along with three interceptions and four pass breakups. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl against Michigan.
1984 (Freshman)
Despite Washington being a true freshman, he still contributed to Husker success and earned his first letter. He finished the season with six total tackles and three pass break ups. Helping the Huskers finish with a 10-2 record and Sugar Bowl win over LSU.
