Brian Edgren Season 1989

1989 (Senior)
A former walk-on, Edgren was listed as Nebraska’s No. 3 middle guard behind Mike Murrat and Pat Engelbert. Edgren did not earn a varsity letter in his last season as a Husker. The Cornhuskers finished with a 10–2 record and earned a berth in the Fiesta Bowl against Florida State.

1988 (Junior)
Edgren was listed as Nebraska's number three middle guard. He played in four games as a reserve and recorded three tackles. He also earned a varsity letter during the 1988 season.  The Cornhuskers posted an 11–2 record and earned a berth in the Orange Bowl against Miami.

1987 (Redshirt)
Edgren redshirted during his second season at Nebraska.

1986 (Freshman)
Edgren was the alternate middle guard behind Murry on Coach Scott Downing’s 4-1 freshman team. He finished with seven total tackles. He tied for second on the team in tackles for loss, with three for 19 yards. 

Holdrege High School
Edgren was a standout player for Coach Fred Ivey, earning all-conference and second-team all-state honors while playing fullback, linebacker, and guard. He also lettered twice in track, qualifying for the state meet on both occasions. During the recruiting process, he visited Wyoming and Kearney State before choosing to walk on at Nebraska. 

Personal
Brian was majoring in agronomy. He is the son of Arland and Joyce Edgren.
