1980 (Senior)
Brent was a three year letterman for the Huskers, He finished with 59 tackles, including 29 unassisted, with two passes broken up. He earned honorable mention All Big Eight honors just as he did in 1979. Brent also saw action in the Sun Bowl against Mississippi State where he finished the game with six tackles, four unassisted and three tackles for a loss of 13 yards, helping the Huskers to a 31-17 win and a 10-2 record overall. 

1979 (Junior)
As a junior Brent had 82 tackles, second best on the team, including 49 unassisted, six stops behind the line for a loss of 24 yards, one fumble recovery and three passes broken up. Brent earned AP Honorable Mention All Big Eight honors and would have had an even greater season but sprained his ankle against Kansas made him miss the Oklahoma State and Colorado games. 

He was named the Nebraska Defensive Player-of-the-Week against Utah State and Penn State. Against Utah State, he had 10 tackles, eight unassisted and one pass broken up, and against the Nittany Lions, he had 13 tackles, including seven unassisted, and one stop behind the line for four yards in losses. Nebraska finished the season with a 10-2 record and an appearance in the Cotton Bowl against Houston.

1978 (Sophomore)
In 1978 as a sophomore under Lee Kunz, he had 21 tackles and two passes broken up. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma.

1977 (Transfer)
Brent transferred to Nebraska in 1978 from Los Angeles Southwest Community College, where he played linebacker under Coach Ron Mins.

Verbum Dei High School (Inglewood, Calif.)
Brent was a linebacker who played under Coach Lola Mendoza. 

Personal
Brent was a criminal justice major and is the son of Aaron and Wilma Jackson.
