1982 (Senior)
Brad was a talented center that could start for most schools, Johnson was fated to play out his career behind one of the greatest centers in college football, Dave Rimington, the 1982 Lombardi Trophy winner and the only Two-time Outland Trophy winner. Johnson played extensively throughout the season and was figured to be a fairly-high NFL draft pick, but signed with the USFL Boston Breakers shortly after the Orange Bowl.
1981 (Junior)
Brad earned his second varsity letter. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the 1982 Orange Bowl-National Championship game against Clemson.
1980 (Sophomore)
Johnson saw considerable playing time as a sophomore earning his first varsity letter when Rimington battled a recurring ankle injury. Nebraska finished the 1980 season with a 10-2 record and a 31-17 Sun Bowl win against Mississippi State.
1979 (Redshirt)
Johnson redshirted his second season at Nebraska.
1978 (Freshman)
Brad walked on and was a starter on the 5-0 Nebraska freshman team.
Harvard High School
Brad was honorable-mention all-state and first-team all-conference as a tight end, fullback and defensive tackle for Coach Bob Wetjen. He also played basketball and competed in track.
Personal
Brad was an agricultural economics major and is the son of Virgil and Nadine Johnson.
