1976 (Senior)
Thomas finished the year with 30 receptions for 561 yards, the second Highest total behind Chuck Malito. Thomas was also active in the return game for the second straight year, he returned three punts for 19 yards. His efforts earned him two straight second team All-Big Eight honors. Bobby helped Nebraska finish the season with a 9-3-1 record and an Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl win over Texas Tech, 27-24.
1975 (Junior)
Bobby was Nebraska’s top receiver, catching 30 passes for 545 yards and seven touchdowns. For his efforts he earned second team All-Big Eight honors and was ranked 13th on the Huskers all time receiving list. The Huskers finished the season with a 10-2 record and a Fiesta Bowl appearance against Arizona State.
Bobby played baseball in the spring and wound up the team;s leading batter with a .327 average.
1974 (Sophomore)
As a sophomore, Bobby backed up Ritch Bahe and Chuck Malito where he caught two passes for 21 yards, six punt returns for 86 yards and one kickoff return for 15 yards. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and a Sugar Bowl win against Florida (13-10).
1973 (Freshman)
Bobby started for the freshman team while also spending time on the varsity. The Huskers finished with a 9-2-1 record and a Cotton Bowl win over Texas (19-3).
Upper Merion High School (Bridgeport, Pennsylvania)
Thomas was an All-American and All-Stater at Upper Merion under Coach Fran Murphy. Bobby was majoring in journalism and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Thomas.
