Ben Gregory Season 1967

1966 (Senior)

Ben Gregory played as the right halfback for his senior year for the Cornhuskers. Gregory was a crucial part in the powerful Nebraska run offense. Gregory would record 93 carries for 418 yards and six touchdowns. Ben also caught 12 passes for 121 yards and one touchdown. Gregory was a part of the Nebraska team that lost in the 1967 Sugar bowl against Bear Bryant’s Alabama, 7-34.

1965 (Junior)

Labeled as the left cornerback before the season started, Ben played mostly at left halfback. Played in the 1966 Sugar Bowl loss against Bear Bryant’s Alabama 29-38. During the game Gregory rushed two times for 12 yards and caught two passes for 55 yards and one touchdown. During this season Gregory rushed for 37 times for 194 yards and two times, he also caught the ball four times for 23 yards. Gregory threw the ball once during the season and completed it for 23 yards. 

1964 (Sophomore)

Played mostly on the 1964 frosh team during his sophomore season due to the stacked halfback room that was in front of him. Spent most of the season playing back-up for Harry Wilson. 

1963 (Freshman)

Ben played on the frosh team for the Huskers,split carries with fellow freshman Wilson. Had a very productive frosh season.

Personal

Son of Anna Gregory, Ben Gregory was born on, Oct. 31, 1946, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Gregory enrolled as an Education major at NU.
