Anthony Steels Season 1981

1981 (Senior)
Anthony started at wingback the last two seasons. He had his best gamme as a senior against Iowa State, where he started by singing the national anthem before the game. He then caught three  passes and scored a touchdown. He finished his senior season with 19 rushing attempts for 118 yards and caught 15 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns. 

1980 (Junior)
In 1980 he caught 11 passes for 208 yards and one touchdown, rushed for 85 yards on 17 carries and returned seven kickoffs for 171 yards. His long kickoff return was a 63 yard return against Missouri, 38-16. Steels helped Nebraska rank sixth nationally in kickoff returns averaging 24.6 return average.

1979 (Sophomore)
Steels backed up All-Big Eight performer Kenny Brown. Anthony finished the season with seven rushing attempts for 29 yards and caught seven passes for 91 yards. 

1978 (Redshirt)
Anthony redshirted his second season as a Husker

1977 (Freshman)
Anthony played and split time as a starter on the 1977 freshman team as an I-back along with Craig Johnson and Russell Gary.

Personal
Steels was a walk-on and came to Nebraska from Zaragozda, Spain. Anthony signed with the Philadelphia Eagled as a free agent. He is the son of Willie Steels.
