1980 (Senior)
Means had 23 tackles, including 21 unassisted, one fumble recovery, two passes intercepted and one broken up. For his efforts he earned Honorable Mention All-Big Eight honors. 

Andy had a solid outing in the Sun Bowl against Mississippi State where he had three tackles, one unassisted, helping the Huskers to a 31-17 win and a 10-2 record overall.

1979 (Junior)
In 1979, he had 31 tackles, including 24 unassisted, three passes intercepted and three others broken up. For his efforts, he earned second team AP All-Big Eight honors. Against Oklahoma, he had three unassisted tackles and one pass intercepted and himself prevented three potential Sooner scores all before a deep thigh bruise in the third quarter forced him out of the game. In that game he was named ABC-TV and Nebraska Defensive Player-of-the-Game. Andy helped Nebraska to a Cotton Bowl appearance against Houston and a 10-2 record. 

1978 (Sophomore)
Andy was a starter as a sophomore earning AP Honorable Mention All-Big Eight honors, with 35 tackles, three passes intercepted and eight others broken up. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma.

1977 (Redshirt)
Means redshirted his second season as a Husker. 

1976 (Freshman)
Andy was a freshman walk-on as a defensive back in 1976. 

Holdrege High School
Means earned All-Conference defensive back honors under Coach Ted Mills where he played defensive back and split end. His father Arden played football for the Huskers from 1948-1950. Andy was majoring in history and political science.
