Defensive end Pierre Allen was a key force on the Nebraska defensive line for each of the past three seasons, and capped his Husker career with an impressive 2010 season. Allen  manned a starting defensive end spot since early in his sophomore year and made 39 career starts.
Allen started all 14 games during his senior season and his role on an outstanding Blackshirt defense was recognized when he was a first-team All-Big 12 selection. The 6-5, 265-pound Allen had 65 total tackles, including 11 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He also led all Nebraska defenders with 13 quarterback hurries.
The play of Allen helped Nebraska again rank among the nation’s top defenses. NU finished  11th nationally in total defense, ninth in scoring defense, third in pass efficiency defense and fifth in passing yards allowed. Allen recorded at least five tackles in seven games as a senior, including a season-high eight tackles at Iowa State and in the Holiday Bowl against Washington. Allen finished with 36 career tackles for loss, just two outside of the Nebraska career top 10, and his 184 career tackles put him in the top 40 on the Nebraska career list.
Allen earned his degree in family science in December.

2010 (Senior)
    Western Kentucky: Totaled five tackles while helping  limit the Hilltoppers to 299 yards of total offense in a 49-10 Husker victory. Idaho: Was disruptive on the defensive line in NU’s 38-17 win, recording five tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and a pass breakup, as NU recorded seven sacks and forced six turnovers. Washington: Totaled four tackles and a team-high two quarterback hurries...helped force Jake Locker into a 4-for-20 effort. South Dakota State: Finished with three tackles - all solos - and a tackle for loss, as NU held SDSU to just 236 yards. Kansas State: Totaled four tackles, including a half a sack and two quarterback hurries while limiting Daniel Thomas to just 63 yards on 22 carries. Texas: Played a major role in limiting Texas to 271 yards, including a 4-for-16 passing day...totaled six stops and had a team-best two quarterback hurries, as Nebraska held Texas to 62 passing yards, its lowest total since 1983. Oklahoma State: Had one tackle in limited duty as he left the game in the first quarter with an injury. Missouri: Played a major role in helping the Blackshirts record six sacks and force Blaine Gabbert into an 18-for-42 passing day for a season-low 199 yards...posted two quarterback hurries and two tackles, including a seven-yard sack. Iowa State: Recorded a season-high eight tackles, including three tackles for loss...recovered a first-quarter fumble that led to the Huskers’ first score. Kansas: Totaled two tackles, including a TFL, and also added a quarterback hurry in NU’s 20-3 win. Texas A&M: Ranked third on the team with seven tackles, including a half sack and one tackle for loss. Colorado: Had four tackles while forcing CU into just 10-of-17 passing. Oklahoma: Turned in a strong game, as his six tackles were the highest by a Husker defensive lineman in the Big 12 title game..also added a quarterback hurry. Washington: Allen matched his season-high with eight tackles, including seven solo stops. He also had a tackle for loss against the Huskies.

2009 (Junior)
Allen was in the starting lineup for all 14 games and finished with 51 tackles, five sacks and 12 tackles for loss, despite battling nagging injuries for much of the year. He also added five pass breakups and eight quarterback hurries. Allen's sacks contributed to Nebraska's team total of 44, 32 of which were produced by the Huskers' starting front four.

Allen posted five tackles and recorded his first sack of the season at Virginia Tech. He produced five tackles, two quarterback hurries and a tackle for loss in Nebraska's key win at Missouri. Against Texas Tech, Allen had a season-high seven tackles, including three tackles for loss and posted the first two-sack game of his career.

Allen produced a pair of tackles for loss at Baylor, then had two pass breakups in NU's win over Oklahoma. In the Big 12 Championship game against Texas, Allen recorded a pair of tackles and a pass breakup that resulted in a first-quarter interception. He capped the year in strong fashion, tying his career high with two sacks against Arizona in the Holiday Bowl, while posting four total tackles and causing a fumble.

2008 (Sophomore)
Allen emerged as a strong defensive force as a sophomore. A backup to start the year, Allen was forced into a starting role when Barry Turner went down in game two with a broken leg. Allen went on to start the final 11 games and responded with 52 tackles, five sacks and 10 tackles for loss. His average of 4.0 tackles per game ranked fourth among all Big 12 defensive linemen.

His play sparked one of the nation's most improved defenses. NU ranked second in the Big 12 in total defense, while recording 35 sacks, a 22-sack improvement. Allen had a career-high 10 tackles against San Jose State, including three for loss. He posted nine tackles and his first career sack against Virginia Tech. He finished the year strong with seven tackles and a sack in NU's win over Kansas and his fourth sack of the year at Colorado. He added his fifth sack of 2008 in the Gator Bowl vs. Clemson.

2007 (Redshirt Freshman)
Allen made 16 tackles, including three for losses as a reserve end in 2007. He had 15 of his 16 tackles in the final six games, including four tackles and a TFL against Oklahoma State. He had three tackles at Texas and a season-high six tackles and a tackle for loss against Kansas. He finished the year with a TFL at Colorado.

2006 (Redshirt)
He redshirted in 2006 and added about 40 pounds of muscle to his frame.

Before Nebraska (Thomas Jefferson HS)
Allen was a two-sport star at Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver, helping Coach Dan Trumble's Spartans to the Class 5A state playoffs each of Allen's final three seasons. Allen led the team in tackles and was defensive MVP as a junior. He earned Denver Post first-team All-Colorado honors as an athlete. Rivals.com ranked Allen among the top 40 weakside defensive ends in the country, and he was named to the SuperPrep All-America 277.

Allen also excelled in basketball, helping his team to 4A state titles each of his final two seasons. Allen earned MVP honors in the state tournament both years, after posting a triple-double in the championship game as a junior and a 13-point, 17-rebound, five-block effort in the title game as a senior. Allen was the 4A state player of the year as a junior, averaging more than 20 points per game and led Class 4A in rebounding (14.3) and blocked shots (5.3). He earned Rocky Mountain News/CBS 4 Mr. Basketball honors each of his final two years. Allen only visited Nebraska, but also had offers from Colorado, Colorado State, Michigan State, Syracuse, Washington and Wyoming.

Personal
The son of Tara Jenkins, Pierre was born on Nov. 18, 1987. Allen has a son, Pierre Jr., who will celebrate his fourth birthday on Aug. 28. Allen is majoring in family science, and was named to the 2007 Big 12 Spring Honor Roll. Allen has volunteered his time on team hospital visits and at the F Street Recreation Center. He was a recipient of a 2008 HERO Leadership Award from the Nebraska Athletic Department.
