Weehler was a versatile performer for Mt. Ayr High School in Iowa, helping the Raiders reach the state playoffs in each of his final two seasons. Weehler played quarterback and linebacker, and his play helped Mt. Ayr to a 6-1 record in 2020 and a trip to the Class 1A playoffs. Weehler was a second-team Class 1A all-state selection as a linebacker. He also helped Mt. Ayr post a 7-3 record and reach the state playoffs in 2019. Weehler also played basketball for Mt. Ayr.
