Maddox Burton did not play in a game during the 2021 season.
Before Nebraska (Lincoln Southeast HS)
Burton was one of the top defensive linemen in the state while starring at Lincoln Southeast High School. In his senior season, Burton recorded 47 tackles and one fumble recovery en route to earning first-team Super-State honors from the Lincoln Journal Star. Burton was also a first-team all-state pick as a senior after earning honorable-mention all-state accolades from the Omaha World-Herald as a junior. He was a first-team all-city pick as both a junior and senior. Burton helped the Knights to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs as a sophomore, junior and senior. Following his prep career, Burton was selected to play in the 2021 Nebraska Shrine Bowl.
