Before Nebraska (Hastings HS)
Synek was a prolific passer for Hastings High School. He finished his career with 5,622 passing yards and threw 65 touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. He averaged 181.4 passing yards per game and went 339-for-598 through the air, completing nearly 57 percent of his passes. On the ground, Synek had 201 carries for 919 yards and three touchdowns. Synek finished with over 2,500 passing yards in each of his final two seasons. As a senior, Synek finished with 2,903 yards and 33 touchdowns en route to earning second-team All-Nebraska honors from the Omaha World-Herald and second-team Super-State recognition from the Lincoln Journal Star. As a junior, Synek helped lead the Tigers to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. That season, Synek threw for 2,524 yards and 29 touchdowns, earning all-state honors from the Journal Star. Synek also played basketball for the Tigers.

Jarrett was born on Sept. 8, 2002, and he is the son of Doug and Paula Synek. He is majoring in psychology.
