» Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll (Fall 2021)

2022 (Redshirt Freshman)
James Carnie did not play in a game in 2022.

2021 (Redshirt)
Carnie played in two games as a true freshman, lining up at tight end against Fordham and Buffalo.

Before Nebraska (Norris HS)
Carnie was the first scholarship player to sign with Nebraska out of Norris High School in at least 40 years. One of five Nebraska natives in the Huskers’ signing class, Carnie was one of three talented and athletic tight ends in the 2021 class. He enrolled at Nebraska in January.

Carnie helped the Titans to state tournament quarterfinal appearances as both a junior and senior, and Norris achieved a No. 1 ranking in Class B as a senior. He caught 38 passes for 594 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior, while also being a defensive standout. Following his senior season, Carnie was named to the Lincoln Journal Star Super-State team and the Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska team. He was also the co-captain of the Class B all-state team. Carnie also ran track at Norris, competing in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes and the 400-meter relay.

Carnie was ranked as the No. 3 recruit in the state and among the top 15 tight ends nationally by 247Sports. He chose Nebraska over Iowa and Kansas State.
