Grant Seagren redshirted in his first season at Nebraska.

Before Nebraska (Oakland-Craig HS)
Seagren was a two-way standout for Oakland-Craig High School, excelling as a tight end and defensive lineman. In his high school career, Seagren helped the Knights to a 36-10 overall record, with Oakland-Craig winning the 2019 Class C2 state championship and claiming district titles in 2019 and 2022.

Seagren caught seven passes for 186 yards and four touchdowns as a senior in 2022. Defensively, Seagren had 27 tackles, including four tackles for loss and a sack.

A three-sport athlete with the Knights, Seagren also competed in basketball and track. He averaged 10.3 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game as a senior after averaging 10.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game as a junior. In track and field, Seagren was a state qualifier in the shot put as a junior.

Grant has two older brothers, Garrett and Wyatt. Garrett played basketball at Chaminade for three seasons, before transferring to Concordia (Neb.) for his final two years. Wyatt was a member of the South Dakota State football team in 2020 and 2021 before switching his focus to compete for the SDSU track and field team.
