Before Nebraska (Lincoln Southwest HS)
Buda was a standout linebacker for Lincoln Southwest High School, where he helped the Silver Hawks to the second round of the 2020 state playoffs. As a senior, Buda totaled 94 tackles with 14 tackles for loss, four sacks, two interceptions and a fumble recovery, according to MaxPreps. On offense, he caught seven passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns. For his efforts, Buda was named an honorable-mention all-state selection and a first-team all-city pick by the Lincoln Journal Star.
Personal
Grant was born on April 26, 2003, and is the son of Brian and Danielle Buda. Grant is majoring in biological sciences and he has volunteered his time with the Red Carpet Experience, the Nebraska Football Road Race and Husker Heroes. Grant's grandfather, Joe Buda, played for Nebraska in the 1960s and his great uncle, Sandy Buda, was the head football coach at UNO from 1978 to 1989.
