2022 (Redshirt)
Stenger played in one game in 2022 while using his redshirt season. He made his Husker debut on special teams at No. 3 Michigan.

Before Nebraska (Millard South HS)
Stenger was one of the most versatile players in the state of Nebraska for Millard South High School. He played quarterback and defensive back for the Patriots.

As a senior, Stenger was an honorary captain of the Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska team, making the squad as a defensive back. He was also a Lincoln Journal Star first-team Super-State selection as an athlete. Stenger quarterbacked Millard South to an undefeated regular season and the No.  1 seed in the state playoffs. He threw for nearly 1,400 yards and 19 touchdowns and did not have an interception all season. He set a Class A state record with six touchdown passes in a first-round playoff matchup with Omaha North. He also rushed for nearly 600 yards and 11 touchdowns. Stenger was also an honorary captain of the World-Herald’s All-Metro team. Patriots’ head coach Andy Means, who coached Millard South for 36 years, told the World-Herald that Stenger was arguably the best football player he coached in his tenure at Millard South.

A three-star recruit, Stenger was rated as the No. 5 player in Nebraska by 247Sports. He chose Nebraska over Kansas State.
