Before Nebraska (Bellevue West HS)
Lilienkamp joined Nebraska from Bellevue West High School, which was one of the state’s top prep programs during his career. The Thunderbirds made the semifinals of the state playoffs in Lilienkamp’s sophomore season, won the state title in his junior year and earned the No. 1 seed and advanced to the quarterfinals in his senior season. As a senior, Lilienkamp finished second on the team with 54 tackles from his safety spot. He also had four interceptions and added four pass breakups. For his efforts, Lilienkamp was selected as an honorable-mention all-state performer by both the Omaha World-Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star. He chose to walk on at Nebraska over scholarship offers from NAIA schools Morningside and Midland.
