Cameron Meredith complete a highly productive Nebraska career in 2012, working as a starter at both defensive end and defensive tackle. Meredith was a mainstay on the Nebraska defense for the past four years, playing in every game, including 41 consecutive starts to end his career. Meredith competed in his 56th game as a Husker in Orlando, the most in NU school history.

The 6-4, 260-pound Meredith was a versatile performer throughout his Nebraska career and that carried over to the 2012 season. With injuries thinning the ranks on the interior of the defensive line, Meredith made the move from his traditional end spot to a tackle position over the second half of the season and helped Nebraska finish in the top 35 nationally in total defense.

Meredith was up to the challenge of seeing time at both positions and finished with 53 total tackles, including 22 solo stops. His five sacks were second on the team behind Eric Martin, and Meredith had a total of seven tackles for loss. Meredith made at least five tackles seven times during his senior season.

The California native finished with 196 career tackles, the seventh-best total in school history for a defensive lineman. Meredith was one of 17 Nebraska seniors who played in the bowl game as a graduate, after earning his degree in management in December.

2012 (Senior)
Southern Miss: Meredith started his 28th straight game dating back to the 2010 season opener... was fourth on the team with seven tackles, including two solo stops... produced one TFL on the day, his 20th career TFL at Nebraska. UCLA: Tied P.J. Smith and Daimion Stafford for second on the team with eight tackles... registered his first sack of the season against the Bruins, one of three on the day for the Huskers. Arkansas State: Helped hold the Red Wolves to 286 total yards on the day... produced one tackle. Idaho State: Had only one tackle, but made it count with a seven-yard sack of Kevin Yost during ISU's first possession of the game. Wisconsin: Was held to one tackle, but helped hold the Badgers to just 56 yards rushing. Ohio State: Produced three total tackles against the Buckeyes, including one solo stop. Northwestern: Totaled five tackles, including three solo stops... produced NU's only sack on the day in the first quarter with a two-yard loss on Kain Colter. Michigan: Played in his 50th game as a Husker... helped hold the Wolverines to a season-low 188 yards of total offense... played both defensive end and defensive tackle... produced two tackles. Michigan State: Kept pressure on QB Andrew Maxwell, who went just 9-for-27 for 123 yards... notched a pair of QB hurries, his first of the season... finished with two tackles. Penn State: Credited with his fourth sack of the year and forced a safety late in the fourth quarter when Matt McGloin was flagged for intentional grounding in his own endzone... totaled five tackles on the afternoon. Minnesota: Recorded a pair of tackles, including one TFL... was his 25th career TFL at Nebraska... helped the Huskers post a shutout through three quarters and limit the Gophers to 177 yards of total offense. Iowa: Produced six total tackles, including three solo stops... helped limit the Hawkeyes to 200 yards of total offense. Wisconsin (Big Ten Championship): Totaled five tackles against the Badgers, including four solo stops from his defensive tackle position. Georgia (Capital One Bowl): Played in his school-record 56th game at Nebraska, including his 41st consecutive start... totaled five tackles against UGA, including a six-yard sack... added a quarterback hurry.

2011 (Junior)
Meredith started every game and had 58 total tackles, including 27 solo stops and five sacks for 34 yards in losses. His tackle total was tops among Husker defensive linemen. Meredith made at least five tackles seven times in 2011.

Meredith opened the year with a standout game against Chattanooga. He registered his first career interception to set up a Husker touchdown, and also had a career-high two sacks. He had five tackles and a pair of hurries in a win over Fresno State, and added four tackles, a sack and a hurry against Washington. Meredith closed non-league play with five tackles at Wyoming.

The Californian posted his first five-tackle game in Big Ten play in a comeback win over Ohio State. In an impressive defensive showing against No. 9 Michigan State, Meredith had five tackles and a sack. He added six tackles and a pair of hurries against Northwestern. Meredith made a big play at Penn State, notching his fifth sack of the year, and forcing a fumble on the play that set up a touchdown to give NU a 17-0 third-quarter lead. Meredith had a season-high nine tackles, including one for a loss, in the loss at Michigan. He closed the year with five solo tackles against South Carolina.

2010 (Sophomore)
Meredith started all 14 games at defensive end and finished the year with 64 tackles, including eight tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also tied for second on the team with 10 quarterback pressures. Meredith had at least five tackles in seven games and was a second-team All-Big 12 pick by the league's head coaches.

Meredith opened the year with four tackles and a tackle for loss against Western Kentucky, and also had four tackles in a win at Washington. He led NU's defensive line with five tackles, including four solo stops against South Dakota State. Meredith produced one of his top games at Kansas State with seven tackles, including two tackles for loss and a half a sack.

Meredith had five tackles each against Texas and Missouri, and played a prominent role in the defensive scheme as NU held Missouri to an 18-of-42 passing effort. He then had a career-high 10 tackles, including two tackles for loss and half sack at Iowa State. He added five tackles and split a sack at Texas A&M. He closed the year with six tackles in the Big 12 title game with Oklahoma and four stops in the Holiday Bowl.

2009 (Redshirt Freshman)
Meredith played in every game and had 21 tackles as the top reserve behind Pierre Allen and Barry Turner at end. Meredith had five tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks, while adding two quarterback hurries. Meredith also recorded a pass breakup and had a fumble recovery in the opener against Florida Atlantic. He had a season-high five stops - all solos - against Louisiana-Lafayette and added three tackles vs. Kansas. He had two tackles for loss and a sack against ULL and shared a sack vs. Texas. 

2008 (Redshirt)
Meredith appeared in Nebraska's 2008 win over New Mexico State, but suffered an injury and sat out the remainder of the season. He was awarded a medical hardship. 

Before Nebraska (Mater Dei HS)
Meredith was a three-year starter at Mater Dei High School, annually one of the nation's powerhouse prep programs. Mater Dei was nationally ranked for much of the 2007 season, before losing in the quarterfinals of the state playoffs and finishing with a 9-2 record. Meredith was hampered by injury as a senior, but still managed to earn co-Defensive MVP honors in the Trinity League and first-team All-Orange County honors from the Orange County Register. Meredith was also a third-team all-state pick by Cal Hi Sports. As a senior, Meredith had 65 unassisted tackles, 27 assists, 7.5 sacks, nine quarterback hurries, two caused fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Meredith was also a standout for Coach Bruce Rollinson as a junior, when he made 60 tackles, including eight sacks, and recovered a pair of fumbles. His play as a junior earned Meredith first-team all-league and second-team all-county honors. Meredith was regarded as one of the top 70 prospects in California by Rivals.com, Scout.com and SuperPrep Magazine. Meredith chose Nebraska over a host of other schools, including Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, Washington and Washington State.  

Personal
Cameron was born on Nov. 20, 1989, and is the son of Cory and Katherine Meredith. A management major, Meredith earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in December of 2012. He volunteered his time with team hospital visits and School is Cool Week.
