2022 (Redshirt)
Ajay Allen played in each of the first four games as a true freshman before suffering a season-ending injury. He carried 33 times for 190 yards in his four games, scoring two touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards per carry. Allen carried three times for seven yards in the season opener against Northwestern before rushing for 58 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries against North Dakota. Allen had a 14-yard touchdown run for his first career score against the Fighting Hawks. Against Georgia Southern, Allen rushed eight times for a career-high 76 yards and one touchdown. Allen had 11 carries for 49 yards against No. 6 Oklahoma before suffering his season-ending injury.

Before Nebraska (Neville HS)
Allen was an explosive running back at Neville High School in Louisiana. At Neville, Allen earned the nickname “Quick 6” for his ability to break long touchdown runs.

As a senior, Allen rushed for more than 2,200 yards and scored 34 touchdowns for the Tigers, who reached the state semifinals. During the regular season, he ranked 11th in the state with more than 1,600 rushing yards. Allen had 360 rushing yards and four touchdowns against St. Thomas More, including touchdown runs of 82 and 99 yards on his first two carries. In the state quarterfinals, Allen had nine carries for 149 yards, including 54- and 65-yard touchdown runs.

Allen was regarded as a four-star prospect by 247Sports, On3 and the On3 Composite Rankings. Regarded as the No. 5 running back recruit in the nation by On3, Allen chose Nebraska after previously being committed to TCU.

Ajay was born on Nov. 17, 2002. He is the son of Anthony Allen Sr. and Kandys Weeks.
