Before Nebraska (Creighton Prep)
Collins was a two-way player for Creighton Prep. As a senior, he made 47 tackles with two tackles for loss and three pass breakups on defense while catching nine passes for 62 yards on offense. His play helped Creighton Prep advance to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. Collins chose to walk on at Nebraska over a Division II scholarship offer from Quincy University and offers from NAIA schools Mount Marty and Morningside.
