Before Nebraska
Kyendra Thomas spent her freshman year at the University of Saint Mary before transferring to Nebraska. In her lone season at Saint Mary, Thomas threw for 1,053 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushed for 786 yards and seven scores. She also had 16 flag pulls on defense.
Thomas attended Wakulla High School in Florida, where she was the All-Big Bend Player of the Year and on the All-Big Bend offensive and defensive first teams. She played club ball for the Southwood Heroes under Head Coach Samuel Brown.
