Before Nebraska
Emmi Merhi led St. Thomas Aquinas flag football team to its first state final as a senior in 2026, when she was the Sun Sentinel Player of the Year. Merhi recorded 14 touchdowns and 795 receiving yards as a wide receiver.
Merhi was also a volleyball state champion at St. Thomas Aquinas. Before committing to Nebraska for flag football, Merhi was committed to play volleyball at Troy.
