Farah Jadran Season 2003

Outlook
Entering the Husker program after an outstanding high school career, Farah Jadran prounounced (FAIR-ah JAD-ran) will make her presence known immediately this fall. Head Coach Jay Dirksen is confident that Jadran will be a factor in strengthening the women's team and expects her to contend for one of the top spots on the squad.

High School
Jadran transferred to Glenbard West after spending her first three years of high school at Glenbard North. She had a late start to the season while the Illinois High School Association determined her eligibility for competition following her transfer, which resulted in Jadran missing the majority of the cross country season. The lack of meets was not a problem. She ended her three-meet season with an unexpected runner-up finish in the 2002 Illinois Class AA cross country championships in 17:26 over the three-mile layout, after placing 32nd as a junior.

On the track, Jadran capped her 2002 season with a sixth-place finish in the 1,600-meter run at the Illiniois Class AA state meet (5:07.89). Her personal best of 5:03.71 came in the prelims the previous day. Jadran ran a personal-best 11:02.2 to win the 3,200-meter run at the 2002 Elk Grove Village Sectional. Jadran was coached at Glenbard West by Sue Pariseau and Paul Hass.

Personal
The daughter of Moh and Jeanie Jadran, Farah was born Oct. 16, 1985. Jadran has a brother, David (26), and a sister, Patricia (23). Jadran was a member of the National Honor Society.
