Before Nebraska
Emma Steffensen joined Nebraska from nearby Waverly High School. Steffensen was a four-year letterwinner in track & field and cross country for the Vikings, where she holds six school records.
She was named to the Super State in 2025 and was also an All-State selection in 2021. On the track, she is a two-time All-Class gold medalist in the girls 800m and the 4x400 relay.
In the classroom, Steffensen was a four-time Academic EMC All-Conference selection.
