2013 (Freshman)
Newcomer Christian Martin added depth to the Nebraska men’s cross country team during the 2013 season.

The freshman from Littleton, Colo., opened the season by placing 19th at the Augustana Twilight in Sioux Falls, S.D., while helping the Huskers win the team title. In NU’s lone home meet of the season at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational, Martin finished 15th in a time of 26:14.90 to help the Huskers win their second consecutive team title.

In the final regular-season meet, Martin took 13th in a time of 26:08.75 at the Tim Young Invitational in Vermillion, S.D. He closed the cross country season at the Big Ten Championships, placing 85th overall in a time of 26:22.8. 

Before Nebraska (Heritage)
Martin produced an excellent career at Heritage High School in Littleton, Colo. He finished eighth in both 2011 and 2012 at the Colorado state cross country meet. He registered a personal-best cross country time of 15:50, which came at 5,500 feet above sea level.

Personal
The son of Matt and Monique Martin, Christian was born Nov. 3, 1994. He holds dual citizenship in the United States and Germany. He is an international business major at Nebraska and is interested in medicine.
